Eclipse Internet Announces Fibre Trials
Clodagh Murphy, Director of Eclipse Internet, recently underlined the need to upgrade the existing networks to cope with the rising growth curve for broadband services. It is common knowledge that at present, service providers are unable to provide high speed and high quality services to all customers. However, new technology has come to the aid of the service providers, and Eclipse Internet has announced its participation in the Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) trial which was inaugurated officially in October.
Eclipse Internet has been in this business for the past fourteen years and in the first part of the trial, the company has chosen a mixed group of domestic and business users. The total number of participants is sixty. The FTTC trial involves the usage of a new fibre broadband network and it promises to increase the internet speed up to 40Mb downstream and 5Mb upstream.
FTTC has generated a lot of interest among the various broadband providers. Apart from Eclipse, many other service providers have conducted similar trials of using fibre network through the 21st Century Network. However, Eclipse differs in this respect from other providers because it has promised its sixty participants that they will continue to enjoy the benefit of fibre network even after the completion of the trial in December.
Further, the company plans to extend the usage of fibre broadband network to all its customers within a short period after the completion of the first phase of the trial.
