Ray Ban eyeglasses have been since the early days of their inception. They proceed to hold a unique place in the hearts of movie-goers worldwide. The frames were instantly adopted by United States flying aces, specifically General Douglas MacAuthur, who was extensively photographed wearing what would come to be known as the aviator sunglasses during World War II. Though they were popular at the time they were created for the military, it took civilians nearly 30 years to begin their own love affair with the label. Ray Bans first garnered the attention of film lovers when Audrey Hepburn stood alone on an empty street in New York City in the early hours of the morning. Sipping coffee and eating a croissant, Hepburn demurely gazed into an upscale storefront while wearing Ray Ban sunglasses in 1961’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. And with that perfectly executed scene, women across the world began to don over-sized frames similar to hers in order to gain an air of worldliness.

With a reputation for being comfortable and stylish, fans of Ray Bans who have been unable to indulge in the brand due to a need for prescription lenses can rejoice. Now RayBan now offers a line of designer prescription eyewear. Currently available at various online retailers such as Eyeglasses.com for great prices, RayBans can now be enjoyed by everyone everywhere. The new line offers both frames that are tried and true as well as modern and trendy styles. Each frame is crafted to uphold the superior standards that had made Ray Ban a barometer of class and quality for over 70 years.

When to Buy a Rolex and when to Buy a Discount Watch

Every time you stop outside that glass window showing those glittering, stunning Rolex watches. This is a heartfelt desire to wrap your wrist with this most well-known name, Rolex. There is good news for you. Now, you need not to spend those big bucks for acquiring your dream watch. Your answer is discount watches. It may not be your desired luxury, but it will be within your budget.

As there are so many online sites and stores are available. But you should not buy without prior information from any store. You should have certain knowledge about discount watches before buying one. I have listed some information which will help you to select your watch.

When is the best time to purchase a watch? If you’re not in a hurry to buy a watch, then take some time first to read articles, scan magazines, visit sites that deal with watches, etc. so you can have a wide variety of watches to choose from. This will give you an idea of how much money you will be spending, plus you don’t need to spend a lot of time in the mall trying to figure out what watch will best suit your needs. But if you really need the watch already, then at least bring with you at least two friends so you could ask for their comments and suggestions regarding watches.

Where to buy your watch at? If you’re buying from the watch store itself (e.g. Rolex store) then I guess you can omit this on your list. But if you will be buying from malls or department stores, then you need to consider this factor. This is important for if in case the watch that you bought is damage, you can easily go to the store where you bought it and ask for a replacement. Just be sure that you have the receipt with you for they will not entertain you if you don’t have any proof of purchase.

How the watch looks like if you’re wearing it. If you’re already on the store to buy your watch, you might want to consider fitting it before buying it. Does it look good on you? Does it suit all your clothes? I’m sorry to disappoint you but not all watches can be appropriate with different kinds of dresses. Be sure that it looks good on you and you feel comfortable wearing it.

There are so many things that you still need to consider in selecting your watch. But at least you have an idea as to how to select the appropriate watch for you. I hope this helps you even just a bit.

Graduation Diplomas For All

Stoles

Stoles, also referred to as an academic stole or graduation stole, are the vestments that are worn to grace a particular occasion such as a graduation or any other formal educational gathering. They are the clothes that are given to the students who have performed well during their study course. The people who belong to honor societies and also professional organizations members can also wear the garments. The

stoles

are made up of certain materials of value such as silk and or linen where one material may be the dominant material and the other can be a lining supporting this material and vise versa. They are made of these expensive materials to show how valued the wearers are academically. The students who have achieved valedictorian awards also receive the garments. It is tradition that the stoles be worn only once in a year and that is the year that the students received the awards. In the case of high school awards, most students who wear these garments do not wear the graduation gown because it is tradition for the gown to be worn on its own and the stole to also be worn on its own. There are, however, other institutions where they can both be worn at the same time.

Coping with Shortsightedness

One of the most commonplace causes for wearing glasses is shortsightedness

shortsightedness, or shortsightedness, is a condition in which targets in the distance are smudged either because the eyeball is overly long or overly strong. It is the upshot of both environmental and genetic factors.

To be shortsighted or short sighted, the light ray that comes into your eye focuses too quickly as either the cornea or lens are too short or your eyes are too long..

shortsightedness does decreases in later life. This appears not to be related to a step-down in close work as is often proposed alternatively rather due to some factor intrinsically related to ageing. It has been speculated the might of the lens of the eye alters in later life.

Overall, 25 percent of those living in the United States are nearsighted.

An eye practitionerwill examine a child’s eye and vision very carefully and work out if there is a problem with how they focus images.

The type and extent of myopia is determined by additional testing. These tests include an evaluation of the child’s binocular vision, his eye movements, his ability to converge and focus on objects close-up, and his ocular health. Dilation of the eye allows the doctor to check for complications of ROP, diabetes, or degenerative myopia.

Since children are capable of over focusing, dilation can help the ophthalmic optician determine a child’s true prescription due to the fact that the drugs used to dilate also impair this tendency to over focus. Over focusing can cause a child to appear to be shortsighted when he or she is actually not.

If you have myopia, you will need to have spectacles prescribed. If your child has been diagnosed with myopia and are under 4, then they may get away with not wearing glasses unless their vision is particularly bad.

Once a child starts school, then being able to focus on the board becomes important for learning, etc. So they should be regularly assessed for the need to wear eyeglasses or the need to change their prescription.

The spectacles are then usually worn full time, except for children with difficulty with convergence (esophoria), who may remove their spectacles for close work.

Clothes and Color - How To Look Slimmer, Healthier and Generate Respect

The colors you wear can make you instantly look slimmer, leaner, healthier and more appealing. Why because:

We react to color before ANYTHING else, and that’s why it’s so important - We react to color on instinct.

Let’s look at how to use color in your dress to project a better image of yourself to all those you meet.

A response on instinct

We act on instinct to color , and through out history our responses to color have helped us survive.

For example, one of our ancient ancestors is hunting in the
Jungle and sees a shape with black stripes prowling around - He doesn’t wait to see the teeth! He immediately sense danger - This is purely the color of the animal that triggers danger
Colors what we associate with them

As society has developed it has reinforced our association with certain colors to trigger a response.

Go into a Hospital or dentists, and you will often see pale green or pale yellow because of their soothing, relaxing impact.

Take a road sign, traffic light or warning notice, see red and you know you probably need to be cautious. All the time we everyday of our lives we react to color.

Color and your image

We can of course use the influence of color to our advantage, to create a positive impression.

Understanding what different colors mean to other people, means you can dress to project different images with the correct choice of color.

Consider this:

Around 60% of clothes sold in western countries are black.
The reason for this is - Black can be used both formally and informally to great effect.

Wearing black formally suggests elegance, strength, authority, power and control - Think what colors the police use for uniforms and what you already associate it with and you get the picture.

If you have to attend a business meeting or any formal event, black is always a safe color. In Western cultures it gets peoples attention and respect.

When worn properly, you can’t go wrong in black. Dark colors are always more effective in formal situations. Dark grey and navy blue also conjure up a similar image

While red is used many people associate it with confrontation, so it’s not a safe choice for business meeting.

Why does red trigger a negative response? Think of signs that warn you of things i.e. a final demand for a bill or a no smoking or any other sign warning you not to do something! - Many people resent red and don’t like it.

There are of course differences between societies in colors they like and don’t like. A good example is red, which is seen as a very positive color by the Chinese.

Colors to make you look slimmer

Generally the darker the color the slimmer you will appear, no wonder black is so popular

The other trick of using color to look slimmer is to make sure that you dress in one color only.

Why? Because you are not bisecting your figure and you are not drawing attention to any of the problem areas of your body.
Colors to enhance your look

For example let’s take someone with a pale complexion. They should not wear many light colors such as yellow and lime green, as this will simply make them look washed out.

Think of hair color as well, or any other feature.

If you are careful in your color selection you can draw attention to your good points and deflect from your bad points.

Other colors

If you want to project a fun image you can use vibrant light colors. In western cultures we present these with fun ( what color are children’s nurseries and colors travel companies use a lot? ) yellow’s orange, blues, greens - All these in our psyche represent having a good time.

Color consultations

Are big business now, as more people than ever are looking to use color to project a better image - Be it they want to look slimmer, emphasize their best features or command respect.

Light the essence of life itself and is reflected in the colors we see - This is why its effect is so dramatic on all of us and why using color is so effective in our dress.

Plaid Skirts

The old phrase ‘Mad about Plaid’ seems to sum up the fashion forecast for this upcoming season. It seems plaid skirts are here to stay. In fact, it is quite interesting to observe how plaid hovers lightly over emerging trends season after season without losing its identity. What is it about this perennial style that gives it such resilience? Most women chalk it up to its versatility. Plaid skirts can be dressed either up or down, making them a valuable wardrobe staple.

Plaid is a classic pattern with a wide scope for incessant variations. While hip clubbers choose to accessorize dark-hued plaid skirts with studded belts or lace-up stilettos, the preppy chick prefers to team flirty, pleated plaid skirts-often in vibrant combinations with sneakers or basic pumps, a pair of matching tights and perhaps a brightly colored Polo shirt. These patterned pieces call out for the season’s winning hues-teal, purple, pink, electric blue, orange and moss green-most often mixed with olive or brown, although the classic red and black plaid is still a tried and true favorite with both the older and the sporty set.

The chic fashionista, on the other hand, usually goes in for a knee-length slim or A-line plaid skirt in traditional Burberry checks such as camel, black and cranberry, and generally combines it with a slim camel-hued coat. Since it was registered as a trademark back in 1920, the Burberry check has come to symbolize everything that is great about British and American fashion, and has achieved a rare position in the fashion industry. In a paradox of sorts, the aristocracy view Burberry plaid as an emblem of elegant, establishment dressing, yet it is equally coveted by young, hip girls as a symbol of having ‘arrived’.

Hair Coloring 101

Whether you want to liven up dull hair color or you want to hide gray hair, hair coloring is a perfect solution to both. It gives hair that extra shine and perk no ordinary shampoo can ever offer. However, there are important things you should remember in hair coloring, as some hair dyes can damage and dry out your hair. You can even be left with a horrible color that you want to wear a hat every time you go out. It can literally make or break you.

- The Basics -

1. Pick a pigment that is one shade darker than the desired color

The color from the bottle won’t necessarily look the same under fluorescent and natural light because a particular pigment is made up of various combinations. Color has tones - warm or cool. Warm colors, composed of red, orange and yellow are used for highlighting and cool or ash colors are blue, violet and green.

2. Consult a color wheel

Selecting a color opposite on the color wheel to your natural color will cancel out each other, giving you a more subdued hair color. This can be useful if you have a naturally bright hair color like blonde or red. Oppositely, if you wish to liven up your color, pick a color that is similar to your current hair pigment to enhance your color. As an added benefit, when the color comes out, the new hair coming in won’t be as noticably different in color.

3. Determine your hair level

Before buying, you can fine tune your appropriate hair color by using a color swatch that lets you see your hair’s level. Identify your hair level. Consider your skin tone, eye color and what color you want to change your hair into.

There are different types of hair colors available:

- Gels

- Tubes

- Creams

- Shampoos

The following is a guide in choosing what type is appropriate for you and your needs.

- Permanent hair color

Permanant hair color specifically cannot be removed easily, although it will fade eventually. Your hair’s natural color pigments will be chemically altered once you have applied this, so be careful in doing so. It is recommended that you leave this one to the pros as it may take a trip or two to the saloon to perfect this job. With the growth of new hair, however, the delineation between the colored and gray hair is very noticeable.

In comparison, single process color involves a single step in depositing the color in your hair. It is also the best type for those who want to try hair coloring at home.

Lastly, semi-permanent is most appropriate for amateur’s who have gray hair because the colors can only darken the hair. It can boost shine and volume, plus it will help tame frizz and split ends. It is the safest type for people who want to have a new do.

Tips:

- Make sure you apply conditioner a week before hair coloring. This will make your hair more manageable when parting your hair into thin parts depending on the volume and density of your hair.

- Do a strand test first! Apply the color on a few strands. Remember to let it dry thoroughly to see the actual color. It will give you a sample of what color your hair will look like. If you don’t like what you see, at least you see it on only one strand, not your whole head! You can do alterations - add warm or cool colors depending on what color you want to achieve. A couple of strand tests will do the trick.

- Apply color to the mid lengths from about 1 inch from the scalp and then the ends. Follow this procedure because the scalp will process faster due to the heat of the body and the insulating effect of long hair on the scalp.

- Follow the instructions if you bought a hair coloring kit. The ends of your hair are porous, which can make it darker than the rest of your colored hair. Apply color mixture after letting the rest of the parts dry.

- If the color is fading too quickly, apply a clear filler to decrease the porosity of your hair. After coloring, using cold water to shampoo and condition your hair will preserve its color.

When in doubt or if the color change you want to achieve is drastic (from black to blonde hair), consult a professional or you might end up a walking disaster.

Building a Business Wardrobe: Aim for Quality and Versatility

You’ve just gotten your business degree, and now you’re looking for that new job, the one that will allow you to show your stuff.

Whether you’re aiming for a Fortune 500 firm or a laid-back dot-com company, the first clothing investment you should make is one or two really great suits. A couple sharply tailored suit coats in neutral “power” colors like black, navy blue, or gray, along with matching dress slacks, will see you through the interview process. Even if you’re applying for a job with a firm whose employees look like every day is casual Friday, you need to walk into your first interview like you’re a CEO on Wall Street. Wherever you work, you’re still going to need traditional business attire for meetings with clients, so don’t worry that you’re wasting your money on the interview clothes.

Before, during, and after your job interviews, pay attention to how employees are dressed. Do they all wear formal business attire? Or are they dressed casually in pullover jerseys and cargo pants? Are they wearing dress shoes, business loafers, or Air Jordans?

There’s a saying in business: dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Once you’ve got the job, pay attention to what upper level management is wearing, and aim for a wardrobe that mirrors that. If your new coworkers are a pullover and cargo pants lot, you’ll still probably notice a pecking order reflected in the clothing choices among the staff. If you decide to go casual, go high quality casual, using natural fibers, solid construction, and a neat, put-together look.

Once you have the job, add clothing, both traditional and casual, in warmer neutrals like tans and browns, to your power suits. Try to build a day to day wardrobe that will see you through at least a week and a half of work without repeating any clothing items; that way, you’ll have time for a weekly trip to the dry cleaners or Laundromat before you run out of clean clothes.

Your business accessories should also reflect your professionalism. A sturdy, attractive briefcase is a must; a coordinating wallet and business card holder also makes a good impression.

And finally, don’t forget the after hours environment of the office. Does the management team play golf or handball? Does the company offer a gym membership, or possibly have its own gym? You’ll want a high quality, well maintained sports wardrobe appropriate for whatever activities are prevalent at the office, including whatever equipment and accessories are necessary for pursuing the activity.

Getting your business wardrobe together may sound expensive, but if you do a little planning and set yourself a budget, over time you’ll find that you can make careful choices that quickly get you wear you need to be. For some, those choices may include a specialty store for big and tall sizing. You’ll want to be able to participate fully in the corporate culture, both in and out of the office. A well chosen, versatile wardrobe will allow you to do that and make a favorable impression on your colleagues in the process.
